Stool Turning Workshop
Stool Turning Workshop
This class is a full day as you will be turning four different pieces - three legs and a seat.
After some introduction and safety to the lathe we start with the three legs. We go over how to replicate shapes on the lathe so that we have three identical legs. The main purpose is to shape the end that will become part of the joinery of the seat evenly and within a margin of measurement.
Then we move on to the seat.
The joint that the legs will be using is a mortise and tenon joint that incorporates a wedge. Which is a joint that does not need any glue (but we will) so you can take home the stool. There is a little movie magic involved in the class (already made jigs for the holes in the seat and cut to size legs) to ensure everything is completed but overall it's all you!!
You walk away with the stool and a small jar of furniture wax/oil.
Class is 10am - 6pm with a 1hr Lunch Break**
